How long is the submission window open?

Submissions closed on August 28th.

How can I stay updated on the naming process?

When you submit your ideas through the web portal or text, you can opt-in to team naming communications. You can also follow us on Instagram, Tik Tok, and X to stay up to date on the latest.

Why are you asking for Canadians to submit their ideas?

Because this is Canada’s team. That commitment starts today, by inviting every Canadian into the process of shaping our new name and logo.

Do I win anything if the name I submitted is selected?

It’s important to note that this is not a contest – it’s a call-for-inspiration. There won’t be an individual person who gets credit for naming the team. Instead, Your input will help inform the decisions being made by the team who will shape the final identity.

I submitted my idea by commenting on WNBA Toronto social content – will my ideas be heard?

Idea submissions must be shared via the web portal (NameYourteam.ca) or via text (text WNBA to 1-833-662-3664) to be considered.

Who else is working on this project?

The whole country. But more specifically, we’ll be using our blog and podcast to share more details about the project, the process, and the team. Stay tuned.
